Emily, you are NINE MONTHS old today!
At nine months, you:
- weigh 21lbs 3ounces and are 27.5 inches long
- wear a size 3 diaper, primarily 12 month clothes, and a size three shoe.
- take 25 ounces of formula (125g Periflex, 25g Similac Advance) and 105mg Phe from baby foods per day. Lately that has consisted of 64mg peas (1 stage 1 container), 30mg sweet potatoes (1 stage 1 container), 2 tbsp bananas, and 1 tbsp apples.
- Eating is hit or miss. You do great with food. You typically eat it all with no problem. You've tried a few table foods as well. You pretty much eat anything that's not formula: green beans, french fries, cooked carrots, avocado, and even are coming around to puffs. You love to chew on raw carrots and celery!
- Have four teeth. Two top and two bottom. The bottoms are in good, the tops are still making their way through. You're also cutting the two side teeth on the side (are those eye teeth?). You constantly have either your hands or a paci in your mouth. Maybe there's more coming.
- Sleep like a champ. All night (you rise a little earlier...7:30am) and a catnap in the morning and a long afternoon nap. It's a complete scheduling thing...not that you wouldn't nap more.
- Phe levels. They're just weird. Generally low, but they've been pretty much in range since you've had another (#3) ear infection. So they continue to tweak your prescription some.
- Let's see. You still refuse to crawl and protest with great magnitude time spent on your tummy. You roll over fine and can scoot backwards. You can pivot yourself in circles to reach for things. You can lean over from a sitting up position to grab and get back up. Every bit of this is on a need to/want to basis. If you can get out of it, you will.
- You say da-da, Ella, bye bye, and can imitate sounds with others. Can even do the tomahawk chop song (you know: "ohhhhh, oh-uh-ohhhh-ohhhh. ohhhh, oh-uh-ohhhh"). You still cackle and laugh and can instigate that. You sound like Woody the Woodpecker.
- You can wave bye-bye and can play this game where someone bangs on the table, points at you, and then you do it. Uncle J taught you that trick. You can give kisses (open mouth, no less), but again, that's on a "want-to" basis.
- You love me! Like really love me. You're cool with other people holding you, but you are certainly a Mama's girl. I'm not sure how I feel about that just yet.
- You have your Daddy completely and utterly wrapped around your finger. He wants to hold you, kiss you, and cuddle constantly. And he, like so many of us, just love you to pieces.
One more thing, could you stop growing so fast? I'm going to blink and be at your birthday party! Love you, sweet girl.
