Previewing Preschool

Today was the day for Open House. While I've spent countless hours preparing for Open Houses as a teacher, I've never actually attended one as a parent. Even if it is only for a K2 program, the roles were tremendously different. Miss Ella was ready to go. She hopped right out of the car and made her way to the building. No jitters here. She is, after all, going to the preschool at the church we attend.

Once inside and in her classroom, she immediately sat down and started playing with play dough. How excited am I that she'll have her fill of this messy activity for two days a week? Very excited. Now I won't feel bad about limiting it in our home. Meeting her teachers, Ms. Kristi and Ms. Tina were not near as important as centers.

I took care of all the "not-center-related" tasks while she was up to her neck in puzzle pieces, play dough, and books.

Did I mention she has some familiar faces in her class? You can join me in praying for her teachers starting right now. All the Mamas have given the teachers a warning.

Once I pulled her away from centers and her dear friend, Kate said, "Ella, 'mon," she began her exit. But not before giving her "teeher" Ms. Kristi a good-bye hug.

So what do you think? Is she ready for school?

I think so...

I cannot believe it is time for this! They are all growing so fast!

But..I do have to say this is the cutest and prettiest I have ever seen her in her entire life! She looks gorgeous! Where did you get that shirt? And how will you top that outfit? Now what will she wear the first day!? :)
