...and not a soul was at our house. We were celebrating with family and friends!
Stop 1: Williams Family Christmas. It might look like crowded, complete, and utter chaos- and it was! But we had close to 20 kids (near, at or under the age of 5) and we were all together. It was a great time!
Stop 2: Christmas with the Earls. We always meet at Houston's and do gifts and visiting there, so I didn't take in my camera. But it was a good time as always.
Stop 3: Lake Lanier Magical Nights of Lights. This was one of the few (only? I think) things we did this Christmas season as just our family of three, so it was a great time just spending time together. Ella helped Daddy drive through the lights, we roasted marshmallows (which she didn't like) and rode a few rides (which she loved).
waving to Santa:
standing in line for tickets to freeze our boo-tays off ride rides:
Now, as we got out of the car, I told Earl that we'd have to give her some sort of ride limit or we'd be there all night, broke, and catch pneumonia. He decided 3 was a good number so we went and let her choose before purchasing tickets (so we'd know how many to purchase). She picked the train, the hot air balloons, and the carousel. When riding the train, the operator wouldn't take her tickets so she got a freebie.
We all rode the carousel (to use up the extra tickets...it was cold!!)
After the carousel we tried to talk Ella into something other than these hot air balloons she eyed earlier. They were not a kiddie ride, but also not big enough for even the smallest of adults to fit in. But she insisted so we let her. The little daredevil loved them! She learned how to turn the balloon as fast as she could (all while the balloons were already rotating in a circle) and couldn't stop laughing when she went way above our heads. It was by far her favorite ride, and although I don't view myself as an overly-cautious or "scared" mom, I was wincing as she was being tossed about the seat at the same time I was laughing so hard I was crying.
And then, just when we were dreaming of thawing out in a warm vehicle, a man walked up to Ella and handed her a few more tickets. So she chose another ride before calling it a night.
Stop 4: Christmas with Grammy and Uncle Casey. While this was actually at our house, we'll count it. We enjoyed dinner, presents, and lots of laughs as Uncle Casey and Ella played with her new toys. Let's just say I'm expecting this spring to be very interesting.
