3 Months

Emily you are THREE MONTHS old today!

At three months you:

• weigh 13 pounds and are 22.5" long. You're a chunk!
• wear a size one diaper and 3 months clothes.
• Sleep from about 9pm until I wake you up at 7am (on school days). I must say that I "wake" you (even though you rarely open your eyes) to take a bottle around midnight and then you sometimes whine for like 30 seconds (I don't pick you up or anything) around 4:30 or 5am. You generally take a good nap in the morning and then late afternoon. You still like your sleep.
• are so happy! You smile at any and everyone! You love to be talked to, and you just go with the flow. You talk a lot yourself. Just "ggggg"-ing away. Your first word has to start with a G!
• hate tummy time. I have to make you do it, but you pretty much scream within seconds of putting you down. I hope this motivates you to start moving soon.
• love your bumbo, swing, newborn lounger, swaddle and anyone arms. Yep, you're pretty rotten.
• Your Phe levels have been through the roof this month (like 18-20mg% in a 2-6mg% preferred treatment range). Frustrating would be an understatement, but we are just doing the best we can.
• hate to eat. Hate it. We're getting better at coaxing bottles down and figuring out how to get you to take all of every bottle. So far, it's by far the worst aspect of PKU. And I know you would agree.
• still love the gym and everyone in it, all the ladies at church, and kids. You're just a social gal who smiles her way through life.
