Bike-a-Thon

One of the big school fundraisers at Ella's school is the bike-a-thon. The kids just raise money and then they bring their bikes to school and ride around a track. Since getting her bike for her birthday she's been super excited about this event. She rallied up money from her top fans (grandparents) and even practiced with dad.

She was all smiles and having a blast...

...until the second lap. I have no clue what happened, but somewhere between the smiles and doing great she decided the fun was over. I mean, she rode the first lap like a champ with no problems. At first she wanted me to walk beside her, to which I obliged. And then that wasn't even good enough. Even her teachers and director, Mrs. Natalie tried a pep talk to no avail. So finally I could take no more of the crying and just told her she didn't have to ride and to stop.

And when she stopped, so did the crying.

She was a wonderful cheerleader for all of her friends and classmates. And if you ask her if she had fun, she'll tell you she did! Go figure...

And she still got a sweet treat at the end for all of that riding...
