Last year was an experience, but we went back this year for more! MeMe, Aidan, Ella, and I ventured out this week to Six Flags. It is the last year we'll be able to squeeze these kids in for free! We did utilize that wonderful valet parking, and will most likely be using it until you don't have to bring the entire house with you when you go. Wagons don't fit on trolley buses that well. We made a whole day of it (almost 8 hours) as we faced the heat and crowds.
We got all set to go.

"Aunt Erica, I don't want my picture taken." "Sorry, buddy. You've got a long day ahead..."

First stop. The sky buckets. Really this was the easiest way to get to our actual first stop without dragging two kids to the other side of the park. But they didn't know that.

This was the real first stop. This is Aidan's "Elmo." Except that he's not completely and utterly obsessed like she is.

"Thanks for the ride, Thomas!"

The Thomas exhibit has a really neat playground and kid friendly "only" area. They really enjoyed this. Except that it wasn't shaded and it was 105 degrees outside.

I didn't realize my mom was taking this picture, but it cracked me up when I saw. Yes, I'm one of those parents. Just try it once, and if you don't like it, you don't have to do it again. It worked here and here. Sometimes you have to give your kids a push. Literally. She liked it once I made her go.

I had to do it with Aidan too, but he just isn't as dramatic.

Did I mention it was hot?

After Thomas, we ventured over to Bugs Bunny Land. Here they could ride some of the rides. Ella's going to have to grow a little more before we return. She couldn't understand why she couldn't ride all the rides. Her courage is bigger than her height. Except on slides, of course.

They were very patient as we stood in lines. Lots of them. Several were long.

If they wouldn't sit in the appropriate space provided, at least they helped pull their own...

And the characters? Ella really enjoyed seeing them from a distance, running up to them, giving them fives, and hugging. Turning around and taking a picture? Forget about it.
