Eighty-Two

Eighty-two years. Eighty-two birthdays. It may not be a milestone year, but every year is a big deal when you're eighty-two. This year for Mamaw's birthday, Ella and I took her to her favorite place to eat, the Jasmine Tea Room. As we sat down to eat, Mamaw was telling Ella how her and her best friend (who is no longer living) used to eat there all the time for lunch. It just made me realize how much more these moments should be cherished. And I'm so glad Ella (and myself) is able to experience and make memories with Mamaw.

The highlight of the meal was that Ella received her drink in her very own teacup and teapot. I mean, she thought she was grown. After lunch we walked around the antique house and looked at all of the breakable and extremely expensive stuff collectibles for sale. Definitely not a place for kids. But we walked out only buying a lollipop instead something broken, so I considered it a win. And Mamaw enjoyed herself, so that's what mattered.

Later that night, Mom cooked the birthday girl a birthday dinner and cake so the family could celebrate with her. And that was a blast too!

Happy Birthday, Mamaw! We love you and wish you many, many more!
