Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 32 weeks
Size of baby: Emily is the size of a sack of potatoes. She should weigh about 3.75 pounds.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 7 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I'm just hoping the clothes I have will still fit until June!
Gender: It's a girl! Emily Undecidedmiddlename Shaddix.
Movement: Often, and very definite movements. She's a strong little girl!
Sleep: Sleeping? Well, I'm tired but not comfortable enough to get long, uninterrupted periods of rest. I just take what I can get.
What I miss: Diet Coke and being able to move about freely.
Cravings: Water (ice cold, please). I don't have a problem eating anything put in front of me, but I'm feeling so hot these days I don't really feel like eating so I think like my cravings are changing.
Symptoms: It's just that time. Contractions (Braxton-Hicks...no worries), pressure, waddling, and constantly hot. Oh the joys of the last months...she'll be totally worth it!
Best Moment this month: Laying on the bed while Daddy felt his first real, strong movements. He got to see how much, how often, and how strong she is when she moves. And it was neat for him to experience it (he says he doesn't remember that with Ella). Also, getting progress made around the house and preparing for her arrival has been exciting. Emily definitely has a room. It's not complete (I do promise pictures, but I want it to be finished first) but she has a crib, bedding, changing table, and some clothes in her drawer. Makes things seem a lot more real (gulp). Funny things from big sis this month: "Mom, Emily is growing SO big! Look at how big your belly is!", "Is Emily already asleep for her nap?", and "Why does Emily hurt you so much?"
Most of you know I've been trying my hardest to stay active and work out during this pregnancy. I think it has really paid off in some aspects, and then in others it sure is getting tough. But I love the gym I go to and honestly am going to miss the folks there while I'm away. So maybe I'm just going to see everyone ;). One of the first milestones I hit was running my first 5k on Thanksgiving morning while pregnant. This is another:
I hiked up Stone Mountain this month with the youth at church. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't really all too hard either. I was certainly more winded and had to be careful watching my steps, but I did it. Emily and I made it and she can say she beat her big sis to the top of Stone Mountain! There were about 5 kids that wanted to take the Sky Bucket down and I figured my center of gravity was a little off for going down so I, ahem, gladly obliged to ride with them.
