Well, another six months means another check up with Ella's orthopedic doctor, Dr. Bruce. While we've just loved him since she was one week old and promised us our baby was going to be able to walk just like other children her age, Ella hasn't really shown a specific preference to him. Until this visit. She has always been a trooper, from braces, spica casts and anesthesia to x-rays, appointments, and waiting. She takes it in stride. Nothing specific other than a checkup for this appointment, however I was a tad nervous because about 2 weeks after our last appointment she wholeheartedly began to despise and rebuke that brace. And she hasn't worn it since.
So...needless to say, I hoped and prayed everything was still alright with those hips and that I didn't get in too much trouble. We had a specific agenda for after our visit so Ella brought a friend along. Apparently, out of nowhere these two decided that, in spite of our incessant attempts at pictures together over their short lives, they wanted to take a picture together. Like friends.

Ella did a great job with her x-ray. If you look closely (or click to enlarge) you can see my red circles and the formation of both hip bones IN the socket. Compared to some of the previous x-rays, these are the most noticeable yet. Praise God!
So, Ella was all excited to see "Boctor Duce." She had talked him up to her dear friend, and even mentioned him to the P.A. Kate wasn't having the idea. She was scared to death! It was nothing a few Dora stickers couldn't fix! In his words: "Her hips look great." We'll take it! Now, Ella has been talking about him all the time. She says, "I go see him." Good thing, we'll be back in another 6 months.
To celebrate (and because Kate went to the potty at the mall) the girls got to take a ride on the "horsies" to finish off our fun day!
