Right Store, Right Price. This Week.

Ok, so let me preface this post with a disclaimer:

**If you are not the shopper of your/any household and/or could care less about the prices or savings on household goods, read no further. OR if you simply read this blog to see pictures of Ella, stop here.**

How was that? Ok, if you're still with me, I'm in sort of a "blogging blah." Not because I don't want to blog, but because we really haven't done anything blog-worthy. Although, after that I'm sure I just jinxed myself.

Oh great.

However, I did want to share with you (because you care if you're still with me, correct?) my savings today. I don't normally shop at Kroger because our family owes a certain allegiance to Publix due its business with Earl's company and helping to provide income for our family. Also, it's close by, clean, and I just like it better.

While I'm 'fessing up to things I did go to Publix yesterday for a few of their deals.

Anyway, back to Kroger. They were having lots of sales this week and when combined with coupons, I was able to score some great deals!

I got everything pictured here for a grand total of....drumroll please....

$51.12 for over $120 worth of stuff!

I know it's hard to see it but here's the specifics on what I got:
  • 2 bars Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • 2 Bx Fiber One Bars
  • 2 Cans Hormel Chili
  • 1 Sara Lee Cheesecake Bites
  • 2 Bx Multigrain Wheat Thins
  • 3 Blocks Velveeta Cheese
  • 2 Packs Brawny Paper Towels (8 rolls in each pack)
  • 3 Blocks Kraft Cheese
  • 5 bags Kraft Shredded Cheese
  • 2 Bottles Frank's Buffalo Sauce
  • 1 Balance Protein Bar
  • 2 jars Tositos Salsa/Dip
  • 2 cans Rotel Tomatoes
  • 1 English Cucumber (ok, not a sale, but we eat them as snacks)
  • 2 Bags Multigrain Tositos Chips

I would've saved about $35.00 by shopping the sales this week but when I combined that with coupons I saved over $60!

Ok, and let me say that, yes, we will eat this much cheese because we're doing South Beach around our house. And while everything is not strictly on our eating plan, it's all something we'll eat. I figured we can save the cheesecake bites and dips for splurge time or get-togethers. Plus, they were so cheap (with coupons) that they helped me get $15 in discounts towards other things.

I also am well aware that I am a total dork for taking a picture of my groceries. I do better than cutting my bill in half on things at drugstores and such, but I don't usually this well on groceries!

Congrats if you made it to this point in this long-winded post! Thanks for sticking with me. I promise my next post will at least include a picture of something other than groceries, and hopefully be much more entertaining.

This is entertaining as well. If I keep reading about other peoples savings, I might just get motivated to do it myself. Thanks for sharing.

I personally love this post! I spent the last hour getting my own personal Kroger list ready for Thursday night and I'm super excited about what all I am going to get. Looks like I will probably spend around $70 though...for a TON of stuff. Probably won't have to go back to the store for a couple of weeks except for milk, bread, and fruit. So, I'm excited!

I started back in January too doing this. But I have been at Publix mostly..but yet again have been able to cut my bill from $160 a week to $100. (yes, I realize this is still incredibly high..darn pullups and diapers!:( ) But, anyway, still! I am trying and back in coupon world! I don't do the drugstore thing..do share! I often go to Kroger b/c I feel their sales are best..BUT having said that..Publix once told me they'll match their circular (Kroger's) but I hate asking them to do that LOL. Congrats!
