A Visit With Dr.Chin

This morning Ella had her 12 month checkup. She got some updated stats: 21 pounds, 29 inches, and 19 inch head circumference. Her weight and length are just a little above average and everything else looked fine. She went through all the things she could do and say (Dada, Mama, Hey, Good Girl, Yea Kate, Dog, and she's learning Bye-bye). As she was asking if she could look at the pictures in a book, Ella was sitting up on the table flipping through a book. It was so cute. Dr. Chin said, "That's exactly what I'm talking about. I need a picture of that." I was proud of my one year old!

She did say that her ears have not completely healed, so I have to take her back for a re-check in three weeks. If they haven't healed by then, she will refer us to an Ear/Nose/Throat Doctor. :( We'll pray they clear up before then.

But, the world of food is now open to Ella and as soon as we finish up this last bit of formula she'll be off the bottle and on milk in a cup. All the food restrictions are off too, apparently the day a child turns one, their little bodies aren't as susceptible to the "Allergic Beware" foods! Its just a magic switch inside them, I think. And she's already seeing the world from a different point of view in the car; her car seat is forward facing and she's loving it! We're seeing those baby days go flying by!
