So here I sit surrounded by a medicine induced haze, feeling some sort of responsibility to my blog-followers for an update. I think Jake's guilt is wearing on me. :) Let me first apologize up front for any errors, I really shouldn't be posting with the amount of medicine I've consumed today...oh well.
Surgery went well on Friday. The gallbladder came out just as planned and everything went well. I really cannot say how much I appreciate everyone's thoughts, prayers, and well wishes over the last few days. I know they have given me strength and gotten me through. I really have not experienced that much pain or soreness in my abdomen at all. I have four small incisions on the right side of my stomach. We're beginning to look a little like a hot mess down there. Earl was a huge help with the initial soreness which has now worn off and I'm pretty much independent. With that said, I still am unable to pull, push, or lift anything for about 6 more days. More than being helpful to me, he has been Ella's main caretaker since Friday and continues to do a great job. We all are beginning to feel the affects of cabin fever. Last night all three of us went to Publix and Subway for dinner and I can't explain how great it was! He and Ella ventured out today for lunch and a couple of errands, which is fine since I've been out of it all day. How come, you ask?
When they perform the procedure to remove the gallbladder, they blow your stomach up with gas to be able to access everything a little more easily. As of Saturday, the only result I saw was a stretch mark that spans the length of my torso on the left side (like I needed one more...). Not anymore! My biggest ailment has been the result of all this gas in my body. Not in my stomach but in my neck and shoulders. I never would've guessed it- even though they gave me a small warning at the hospital. I cannot adequately describe the pain that I am having, but just know it's rating up there on the list (AND I've had a child). This is causing me to continue to the use of pain meds which makes me sleep all day.
So there you have it. Minus the shoulder and neck pain, I'm doing great. I'm hoping and praying this will subside soon...
I have managed to snap a couple of pics over the last few days of Ella lounging around. I'll post those soon when I can manage to type at a computer for a longer length of time.

Glad all went as planned! Wishing you a speedy recovery! How about Publix moving everything all around in the store? Meds and a re-vamped grocery store--good thing you had your husband to help navigate! :)
