Blowing Away Cancer

It's that time of year again. The time when millions of people join together in order to raise money and awareness about a disease that has affected at least one person in your life. As the nation and the American Cancer Society begin their Relay for Life Campaign, many schools across the country use this time to educate children, remember loved ones lost, and celebrate those who have faced or are facing cancer. Ella and I went to be a part of MeMe's school's Mini-Relay for Life as they showed they were "Blowing Away Cancer":

They were all prepared to blow away cancer with their cute hats and streamers blowing in the wind,

bubbles,

and party horns.

What a great way for kindergartners to see they can be a part of the cause. Ok, ok, so they had fun too. But I think they understand it a little better this year. Why? What an amazing survivors' lap to see Ms. Dysart walking around the track with her granddaughter:

Here's Ella leading the way. She got a cozy ride because it held another important part of the classes' theme: a bubble machine. She just loved watching all the crazy kiddos. And I do mean crazy. It was the day before spring break!

Everyone has their reasons for doing Relay for Life. Some do it just for fun, some do it to help a good cause, and some just do it. Here's my main reason:
