Independence at its Finest

Over the last few days, I've been working on getting Ella to use a fork. I am not what you would you would call a perfectionist, however I am struggling trying to be patient as she learns to do things independently. I can do them much neater and faster. Sometimes I just force myself to leave the room as she eats her food one piece at a time. Here's what I came back to today at lunch:

The fork was still in her hand, but somehow I don't think it always made a straight path to her mouth. I just wish I could've seen the process and not only the final product. She did eat every bite of her lunch. Learning is sometimes a messy job. Literally.
