Today Kora and I had a great afternoon with the girls from our Middle School Core group at church. These girls are a small group that we meet with each Sunday night in order to form bonds, relationships, and learn more about Christ during such a critical point in their lives...for many years to come.We gathered six 6th graders from three different schools (yes, carpool lines and all) and took them shopping to purchase goodies for Operation Christmas Child. We shopped, grabbed dinner, went back to the church to stuff the boxes (Kora and I had already wrapped the boxes- which is no easy task), and even squeezed in a little homework time all before Wednesday night service! It was so neat to see each girl picking out items for a child that will receive these boxes around Christmastime. I only hope that those sweet children will enjoy their boxes as much as I enjoyed watching the girls make them!
