Celebrating Birthdays and Friends

It's so amazing to think back to just three years ago. There I stood in the halls of Ola Elementary with three friends: Kora, Stacey, and Jana. We talked about pregnancy (Stacey was pregnant at the time) and babies (Jana has two beautiful grown babies) and kids (our students- of course). We listened and hopefully learned something from one another...but most of all we made lifelong friends.

And just recently (sorry I'm a little behind) we got to celebrate a great part of that friendship- our kids! Makinley, Stacey's youngest (she now has two), just celebrated her first birthday. Kora, the girls, and I made the trip to Madison to be a part of this special day

There were so many kids there...most of which were in red and black. It was a lady bug themed day...but the Lancasters are also ALWAYS bulldog themed as well. Both happened (a game and a party) on the same day...so it made for a lot of red and black!

Makinley was such a sweet eater. So polite, so neat- which is so descriptive of her little personality as well. You'll notice big brother Tripp in the picture below making sure she eats that cake!

Of course Ella was a part of the present opening at this party too. She seems to be getting the hang of this quickly.

The three girls stop for a pose. Not really- this picture was extremely difficult to take as you can imagine. Check out those cute shirts on Kate and Ella- thanks mom! Isn't she talented?

It was such a great time. Ella thoroughly enjoyed herself. She played hard- both Kate and Ella were asleep by the time we made it out of the neighborhood!

Happy Birthday Makinley!!

Um, can we say Dolly Parton? I think I'm falling out of my top in the background!
