Kate's Birthday Party...From Ella's Eyes

Yesterday was so much fun! Kate's one now, and so we went to her birthday to celebrate! There were so many people there, lots of Kate's family and friends...most of whom I've seen before. The party was downstairs, probably my most favorite part of Kate's house- it's so open and has really neat carpet- and Kate's Nana and Papa got her the neatest playhouse for downstairs that I just LOVE to play in! The room was much more full than normal...but I managed to walk most of the time...it's my newest mode of transportation. After I played in Kate's house for a little while it was time for some cake and ice cream. GiGi fixed me a plate and I sure did love it. My MeMe made the cake and I always like her cakes anyway.

I then realized that Kate was doing something that looked so fun- without ME! Opening presents! So, I politely made my way through all the crowds watching and decided that I needed to help Kate out. I had no interest in this at my own party, but since then have changed my mind. Kate was feeling a little under the weather so I decided I would help Aunt Kora with many of the presents. Mom didn't really like me getting in the way of Kate's time to shine, so she pulled me away. That's ok though, I just found the other presents that Kate hadn't got to yet and pulled out all the tissue paper so Kate wouldn't have to- you know, because she didn't feel well.

There were lots of my friends there besides Kate: Makinley, Gavin, and even bigger kids like Haley and Jacqueline that I loved to play with! While Kate was opening presents, Makinley's mom, Ms. Stacey brought out a snack to keep Kate happy: PUFFS!! Makinley and I soon realized what was happening and so we went to stand around like beggars while Ms. Stacey handed out puffs to all three of us. Yummy!

Then it was time for Kate's birthday cake. We sang Happy Birthday and when she and Aunt Kora blew out the candle, I clapped and said "Good Girl." Kate still wasn't feeling well, but she did eat a couple of bites and I clapped with all the grown-ups.

After the party I went home with MeMe because I was so sleepy and getting grumpy. After my nap, I did get to go back to Kate's house and help her play with all her toys. The funny thing is, out of all those toys, Kate and I ALWAYS wanted to play with the exact same toy at the exact same time...so we did a little arguing. I think we'll learn how to work it out eventually...hopefully.

It was a great day and I think I might like these birthday parties after all. Good thing, I get to go to Makinley's next weekend and then Gavin and Cooper's the following weekends!

Happy Birthday Kate!!
Love, Ella
