Proud Mama

I was so proud when Ella first smiled last year at the Festival of Light with a Diet Coke can; I was so proud when she starting crawling, when she took her first steps, and when she FINALLY said "Mama". I knew all these things would be exciting moments- kind of like how I imagine how proud I'll be when she starts school, learns to read, writes her name, graduates high school, finishes college, and gets married (when she's thirty). I knew this before even having her. However, I never knew how proud I'd be when I realized that Ella loves the same things I do: shoes!

As we were testing out a new pair of shoes for her this week, she took it upon herself to do a little browsing around the store. You can't deny how happy she is by looking at the pictures below! I'm so thrilled I have a little built-in shoe shopper in Ella. By the way- she went straight to the clearance racks...good news dad!

And no, I don't usually roll Ella's jeans up to her knees...I was trying to get a good look at those near impossible-to-fit shoes. No worries...we have success. She finally has a pair of plain, white tennis shoes that fit and don't hurt her feet.

By the way- for those of you that currently have babies with fat feet or those that will have them in the future- call me before you go shoe shopping. I know all the brands and styles that will actually fit a fat foot!
