Today was Ella's 6 month check-up for her hips. She did a different, more "big girl" x-ray where she stood on a little step stool and took the picture standing up. They have always done the more traditional x-rays in the past where she lays on the table and the machine goes over her, but I think this was much less traumatic. She even got stickers for being so brave.
The reason for this x-ray is that it measures the degree of the angle of around both hip sockets and into the pelvic bone. If you look at the picture, you'll notice they're almost the same (good) AND the balls of the hip are much larger and more dense (they show up better). These are all great things! Praise God for good news!
After x-rays, we had to endure the long wait to see Dr. Popular, I mean Dr. Bruce. She did good though. She said hello to everyone in the room at least once and played with their toys.
Even once the waiting room cleared out she found things to do. See that aquarium behind her? She loved the turtles in it and followed them around for a while.
Dr. Bruce says she still needs to wear the brace at night until she gets married, but that we can talk about it at our next appointment in January. It was a long day, but we'll take it for great news!
Oh, and try to hold your envy on the superior quality of these photos as they were taken with the camera phone...
