It's Elmo!

Well, it's official. You can go ahead and send me a big ole' spoon. I need one to eat all those words I spoke in this post. Not all the words, but most. Ok, all, except the shoes. We went as a family last night to see Elmo Live. AND she wore an Elmo dress. And I wouldn't have changed a single thing about the night. It was all worth it.

She even read Elmo on the way there. So there.

This wasn't just any old Elmo outfit she wore. MeMe whipped this dress up in no time flat. Like a day, maybe. With her first applique (for all you non-sewers, like me, that's what the Elmo is) and all. She kills me. Actually she thrills me, but whatever. Isn't this child of mine just adorable with her Elmo on? Just so you know, at least ten people stopped us to either comment on her dress or ask where we got it from, even though there were 575 different versions of Elmo clothing for them to feast their eyes on. And that's no joke.

Here's the star of the show...

...and here's her reaction. "It's Elmo, Mama!!", "It's Elmo, Daddy!!" If she said it once, she said it at least a hundred times. It was like she couldn't believe it was actually him. I wish I could've bottled all that excitement up so that I could adequately describe the sheer thrill on this child's face. I am not exaggerating when I say I honestly think I saw tears come to her eyes. It was priceless and Earl and I both agree it will be very hard to top.

This was pretty much her stance for a solid 45 minutes, and then another 30 (after the sales pitch of a lifetime, I mean, intermission).

Oh yeah, and the show was good too. We had great seats so all the characters were really close. I did very little zooming with my camera. Ella even got to give one of them a five when they came off the stage (sorry, I wasn't quick enough with the camera on that one).

All of the familiar faces were there to visit along with Elmo (ok, so I zoomed in on this one).

Daddy's childhood favorite,

Uh huh, she was still glued.

The show was over, but the pictures weren't.

My personal favorite from the night:

Bye-Bye, Elmo!

What a sweet memory! I remember taking Savannah to see Sesame Street Live when she was around 4 or 5 and she was absolutely thrilled to see Elmo and Big Bird -- it is defintely a memory I will never forget seeing the excitement on her face. I know you will never forget Ella's expression.

I am so glad you got to take her. I cried when I saw their expression at Disney on Ice when they saw McQueen. I tell you it hard to put into words. Worth every minute though. :)
