...so we just had to celebrate it! Saturday our family made the trip to Lake Hartwell to celebrate Earl's grandfather's 80th birthday. Curtis is Tammy's dad (Earls' step-mom)...did you follow that? We have not made that trip since 1999 (well before Ella), so we were excited to see the whole crew. Although Ella had quite a lengthy nap before our travels, she became a little antsy during the drive. The solution? Roll all the windows down. The results:
Pure happiness. My hair was a tad wind-blown after riding with the windows down for over an hour, but she was so happy and laughing, it was totally worth it. Once we arrived, we noticed the lake was soooo low, it was almost sad. We could not believe it. The weather was nice, however, which was fortunate since it was outside. We enjoyed lots of homemade food, and you cannot imagine the slew of delicious desserts that Dot made! The best part was the company.
Chad, Casey (Earl youngest brother), Dot, Cody, Tammy, Ella, and Earl. Where's the birthday boy? Most likely socializing with the 90 people that came to help him celebrate. That's right, 90 people!
Boys will be boys. Earl does have a pretty smile, I promise. Thank you Casey for being a good sport!
Tammy and I went next door to pick Ella some blueberries. I've never done that before, and after assessing the hundreds of ant bites I accumulated in the twenty minute period, I may never again!
We spent some time together, gave Ella a quick bath and bottle, and hit the road for home. She was asleep before we made it out of the driveway! We enjoyed our time at the Temples' and hope to see everyone again soon- and here's to wishing Curt many more years!!
