Last night we went to join our friends, Ben and Brooke for dinner. Ella hasn't been to their house since she's been the active tot, so I knew she would have plenty of fun things to check out and do. She started out helping Brooke cook and knocking over the dogs' water in the kitchen (boy I haven't missed that). Then she got to take a ride on a glorified golf cart with Earl and Ben (I thought it was a Gator- but apparently it is somewhat different). She also got to play with Timber, the dog. They have two other dogs, but Cody and Daisy didn't come inside. Ella just loves dogs! And since Timber is still a puppy (a big puppy), the bounce in her step just makes it even better. She also got to see Ben's gigantic aquarium with all the pretty fish...not to mention all those dead animals on the wall (let's see...an elk, a deer, a pheasant, some sort of other birds). She thought they were fascinating anyway...
I must say the funniest part of the night was the quantity of food the child consumed! She ate before we left home, but still managed to pack in almost an entire papaya (I told you she was a fruit lover), macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, a biscuit, chicken, and some peach cobbler! She was so full her belly looked as if it could pop at any moment! Not a good way to maintain the figure...
We had a great time and hope to do it again soon. Maybe not so much food next time?
